Once installed, you either have to be on campus or use the RIT VPN Client to access the licensing server when you launch the software.  You can check out a license for extended use away from the campus by using the SPSS Commuter License option in your Start Menu.. This allows you to use SPSS with no internet connection for a certain amount of time.

Checking Out a Commuter License

Open up the Start menu and search for SPSS Commuter License.

  1. Highlight the SPSS version that you have.
  2. Specify how many days you will be checking out the license.
  3. Click the Check Out button and you can exit the window. 
  4. When you are finished using the Commuter License make sure to check it back in.
