The P: drive is used by individuals to save personal files in a safe and secure location. The P: Drive should be used instead of my Documents. P: drives are not shared with multiple users. This is what the H: drive is for. Each faculty and staff member is encouraged to store any important files on the P: drive. Because Saunders Technical Support does not backup individual workstations, by storing files on the P: drive, users do not need to worry should their computer fail.

Off Campus Issues
To connect to the H: drive, P: drive, or any of the Saunders File Services from off campus, you must first establish a connection using the RIT VPN Client.
Connecting to all Saunders File Services
While file services like the H: and P: drive are automatic for Saunders managed computers, there are several other file services available that some of our users require access to. All file services are located at \\main.ad.rit.edu\Shares\SCB. (smb://main.ad.rit.edu/Shares/SCB on OS X). Connecting to this location will allow you to see all the various services we offer.
How to connect
...
For OS X (Macs), please see the instructions below for connecting to the H: and P: drive using a Mac. Just enter in \\main.ad.rit.edu\Shares\SCB without the trailing \SCB_Shared or \SCB_Personal and you will be connected to all of the files.
To manually connect using Windows, start by opening File Explorer. In the top address bar where is shows This-PC, enter \\main.ad.rit.edu and press enter.
If you are using a Saunders managed computer, you shouldn't be prompted for a username and password. If you are using a personal computer, be sure to add MAIN\ in front of your username.
Once connected, go to Shares \ SCB. Then you should be able to see all of the Saunders shares. The H: drive is under SCB_Shared and your P: drive is under SCB_Personal.
