Once launched, enter your RIT Username followed by @rit.edu for the Username and backupclients.us2.ritcrashplan.educom for the Server Address. Click Continue. When prompted, use your RIT password to complete the sign in.
Once signed in, the software will automatically start scanning your system for files to backup.
While it is scanning, you will need to manually add a destination for the backup to reside. To set this up, click on Add destinations
Check Datacenter - Ross Hall and click Save
You will then see a progress of your backup. The initial backup will take some time and will run in the background. You do not need to wait for it to complete before disconnecting from the network or turning your computer off. It will pick up where it left off the next time it has a network connection.
No further action is required once the backup begins. Everything will then be automatic.
You will be redirected to your browser to sign into your RIT account from a standard RIT login page.
Once logged in, you will be prompted that you can close the browser.
Once you return to the Code42 app, you may see it still waiting for the browser to open for you to login. There may be a 2-3 minute delay.
Once the app is signed in, you should see the back up process starting. You may now close the app.
