8/2/20208/10/20208/6/2020Code is partly written, but valves and piping properties need to be replaced with those of the parts used in RL-36.Since flow rates are very low for the piping size used throughout the feed system, losses are minimal. At higher flow rates, such as in future, higher-thrust engines, these losses become significant.
8/2/20208/10/20208/31/2020Code is partly written but needs pressure downstream of fuel tank to be calculated first.Nitrogen tank can be pressurized to 1000 psi. This accounts for the ullage volume that need to be pressurized when nitrogen flows into fuel tank. This will not have a great impact on flow rates, and it requires a purchase of 20 kg of nitrogen gas.
8/2/20208/9/20208/8/2020Ensure design conforms to established theory and is as easy to manufacture as possible.

According to RPE, converging nozzle section "has never been critical in achieving high performance," therefore we can continue to adjust it to whatever is easiest to manufacture. Justin Silva (RIT Student) suggested making the chamber area 3x the throat area; current chamber area is 25x throat area. This change would make the engine significantly smaller than current design, further discussion should take place.

Added renders of exploded engine assembly and test stand. May add more renders in future. Also, renders will have to be updated after final design changes.

Due to very low flowrates, the losses in the oxidizer line are negligible.

Doing CEA analysis with gasoline is very difficult because the chemical composition of gasoline is not available to the public. Gasoline is a mixture of dozens of hydrocarbons, and the ranges for percent composition by weight are wide.

Five adapters in the nitrogen line were traded for two more simple adapters. A total of eight new adapters are needed to fill remaining gaps in all lines.
  •  Justin Silva (RIT Student) Take oxygen and nitrogen tanks to Airgas to find out what kind of shutoff valves can be placed on the tanks.

Airgas account is set up. COTS tanks will be used to fill the custom tanks. Sizes and pressures for COTS tanks have been calculated. Both oxygen and nitrogen tanks will be 200 cf at 2000 psi.

Program igniter and solenoid valves so that they can be ethernet controlled from outside of bunker.

Should include why certain valves were placed where they are in the system, as well as P&ID diagram.
