Overview

Portal Manager is a tool within Ivanti (formally LANDesk) that allows users to install software without the use of admin rights.

Installing Optional Software using Portal Manager

One feature of Ivanti is to provide a list of optional software that users can chose to install without having to contact Saunders Technical Support and without administrative rights. To review this list of optional software click on the Portal Manager in the Start Menu under All Programs \ Ivanti Management.

Click on the Launchpad option on the left-hand side and check the software package(s) you wish to install.   Then click on Launch.

Be aware that some of the software listed does require you to be either on campus or connected to RIT via VPN in order for the installation to work.
We strongly recommend being on campus as the size of some of these packages may take hours to install from home.

In some cases, the deployment might list as failed; however, it actually worked.  Test out the software to see if it successfully installed first.
