microcontrollers

built in imu:https://www.digikey.com.mx/en/products/detail/seeed-technology-co-ltd/102010469/16652896 ****selecting this, the power consumption is negligible enough and the imu is acceptable and it will be easy.

lowest power ATmega8

buzzers

brayden doesnt have access yet lol, but he found some but also theres alot so yeah

big led??

no big led just regular white led from the shed that draws 100mA

switch get mary to look at these

^^no we waht stuff that we can get from jlcpcb

AO3400A | Alpha & Omega Semicon | MOSFETs | JLCPCB LIKE THIS ONE

NVM we can get a boost converter with an enable. this simplifies things A LOT.

JST PIN CONNECTORS: (Battery either uses JST PH-2.0/JST MINI)

specs for the xiao sense

-needs 5V from battery,

consumes ~10mA

2mA gpio current

probably 3.3V output (closer to 2.2V according to testing found on reddit)

Action items going forward

  • design camera-board-batteries interfacing/physical design

  • design casing

  • test the run cam with led for exposure change

  • power calcs/timeline, test current draw with 5V (basically done, should test 5V)

  • get parts in altium

  • select transistors for switching (probably fets) that WORK and check efficiency ect (almost done)

  • triple check if the xaio needs regulation (done, it doesn not, its built in)

  • later design voltage conversion

Power drain estimates

with 1600mAh battery

passive standard mode 160hrs 10mA draw

low power mode passive: 45.6yrs 4uA draw lol

powering cam+led (450mA+100mA) 2.9hrs

overestimate powering cam+led (600mA+100mA) 2.3hrs

with 3200mAh we could almost completely ignore putting the xiao on sleep mode, power consumption would be a very minimal issue

UPDATED CAPACITY

1100mAh

Wich battery do we want to use? It depends if the form factor due to the bigger one will be ok with structures. Otherwise no reason not to use it, couldn't find other downsides, its kind of better in every way.

as far as voltage conversion, we did quick calcs, the current draw to step up from 3.7 to 5 will not exceed 1A wich is a non issue. Smaller battery 3A max draw. bigger max 10A wich is almost overkill
