Successes

  • Beekeepers successfully stuck to a set timeline

  • Rocket was ready on time

  • No all nighters needed

  • Did not go over-budget

  • No ordering before design was finalized

  • All parts came on time and none needed to be ordered late in the build

  • Best SR paint job

  • Creative payloads

  • 4 team members are now leads

Failures

  • Poor distribution of responsibilities between leads

  • One team was not given the necessary guidance or information and was behind schedule

  • Last minute ordering

  • Other leads (President, other SR lead) stayed with this team instead of their lead

Mitigations & other ideas

  • BOTH leads must be dedicated to RIT Launch Initiative and the role of lead

  • Communication between teams should be improved

  • Communication between leads should be improved

  • Teams should be introduced to the other Launch leads earlier

  • Leads should not be presenting slides in the team’s PDR/CDR
