Dimensions: 70mm x 203.2mm (2.756 in x 8 in)
Dimension Requirements:
needs to fit in an L1 rocket
needs be able to house 4 modules and ethernet connector
needs space for Power Mod onboard
needs GPIO connectors on both sides
Horn Buckle connectors chosen instead of DE9 connectors due to needing more GPIO pins and needing a shorter form factor
Minimum possible dimensions (with connectors fitting directly under modules): 181.5mm (switch blox length plus two module lengths with zero clearance)
From these design constraints we chose 70mm x 203.2mm leaving a bit of space for mounting modules, the switch blox, and a little extra room for PowerMod’s components
