Driving issues:

  • Connectors on top plate and hardware on bottom plate makes disassembly inconvenient because everything needs to be unplugged with the top plate dangling
  • Nothing is hard-mounted, friction fit at best, top plate is gravity placed. This allows it to move around while in transit; not good with a significant amount of hardware

Major goals:

  • Mount all electronics to top plate
  • Epoxy threaded posts/standoffs to case to solidly mount top plate

Nice to have:

  • Reinforcement for weight of hardware
  • Cable management channels

User-facing hardware:

  • Fan (2x)
  • Fan Switch (2x)
  • Keyboard (1x)
  • USB port (6x)
  • RJ45 port (3x)
  • 5V barrel out (1x) (not in possession)
  • 20V barrel out (2x) (not in possession)
  • "Analog" altimeter (1x)
  • 2-pole single throw switch (1x) (not in possession)

Electronics:

  • LattePanda (3x)
  • 40V/12V regulator (1x)
  • 12V/5V regulator (1x)
  • Voltage rails (2x)

Ground station will be powered by external laptop batteries (through switch and 20V barrels).

Hardware requirements explained in Ground Station Electrical Notes.
