Avionics Launch Day Checklist

  • Switch lines have continuity in av bay
  • Switches have continuity in body tube and are both set to off
  • Charge lines have continuity to the end of the ribbon cables through the bulkhead
  • Attach ematches (a twisted pair of two per deployment line) to ribbon cables, labeled 1 and 2 per cable
  • Eggtimer Quark set to 1s drogue delay and 1000 ft main deployment – NOTE FOR FUTURE: both computers' main should not be the same altitude for most configurations,  blowing two charges at once is bad
  • Perfectflite set to 1s drogue delay and 1000 ft main deployment
  • Attach diplole and GPS antennae
  • Plug BRB battery in
  • Power on ground Baofeng(s) and start APRS decoder(s)
  • BRB sending APRS packets
  • BRB has lock, may need to face body tube towards the sky
  • Plug DB9 cable from av bay into body tube bulkhead, take not of which connector is used, should be marked on the top of the bulkhead with a 'D' for deployment
  • Plug switch connectors in, one pair should go to the "gold" wires and the other pair to the remaining wires
  • Insert av bay into body tube
  • Connect DB9 ribbon cables to top and bottom bulkheads, should be in the labeled connectors
  • When rest of rocket is ready, insert ematches into blackpowder and tape over
  • Arm on pad
