This guide does not apply for student Gmail accounts.

Android Devices

Tap here to go to the Google Play Store and download Outlook.  You can also search "Outlook" in the store on your phone.  Upon opening the app for the first time, you will be prompted to add an email account.

...

5) For Domain\Username enter: MAIN\username where "username" is your RIT  username.  See below for a screenshot example.

Note: You must used use a back-slash, not a forward-slash, or it will not work.  To find the backslash on an Android keyboard, you must go to the second page of the symbol keyboard.  To get to the second page of the symbol keyboard, press the "!#1" key at the bottom left, then press the "2/2" key at the near bottom left above the "ABC" key.

...

8) Tap the check mark in the top-right corner.  You are done!

iOS Devices

  1. Download the Outlook app from the App Store. Once downloaded, open the app. You will see a screen that says "Add Account" like the image below:
    1. NOTE: You may see a page that says "Account Found", tap Skip if this appears.
  2. When prompted for an e-mail address, enter your Saunders e-mail address (either @saunders.rit.edu or @rit.edu works)
  3. On the Exchange page, enter your RIT password. Optionally, add a description if you plan to use Outlook for multiple accounts, such as a personal e-mail.
  4. Tap on Use Advanced Settings, and make these changes:
    1. Make sure mymail.ad.rit.edu is listed as the Server.
    2. Under domain, enter "MAIN".
    3. Under username, enter your RIT username (i.e. abcbbu). This field may be already populated by your e-mail, but that will not work.

  5. Tap on Sign In.
  6. If successful, you will initially see a page asking you if you want to add another account. Tap "Maybe Later".
  7. Your e-mail should now be set up. Please note that it may take a few minutes for your e-mail and calendar to populate.
