  1. Turn on the system by pressing the power button.
  2. Select one of two modes:

Collaboration Mode:

  • Allows everyone to work in a group.
  • Can breakout into separate table groups.
  • Allows instructor to blank image screens.
    • This button will display a black screen on the projector (This can be used when, for example, you don't want what you're doing on your laptop to be displayed to the projector).
  • Instructor can give ticker mode and collaboration mode at each table.
  • Instructor has control over volume at each table.
  • Instructor can broadcast to all tables.

Change Mode button will allow the instructor to switch between Collaboration and Instructor.

Instructor Mode:
This mode enables the projector.

  1. Select how you would like to connect:
    1. Either via VGA or HDMI.
    2. Note that when connecting via VGA in order for sound to play the 3.5mm jack must also be inserted into the laptop.
  2. Volume
    1. Allows the instructor to increase and decrease the volume as well as mute the sound entirely.

Be sure to power off the Extron system when not in use.

Global Business Solutions Lab (BCL)

Turn on the Extron system located on the wall next to the podium.

  • You will notice the options for input sources (PC, Laptop VGA or Laptop HDMI).
    • Select either Laptop VGA/HDMI if using a laptop and would like for it to be displayed on the projector.
      • Note: If using Laptop VGA, be sure to plug in the 3.5mm jack or else audio will not work.
    • IF SCREEN IS BLANK:
      • Tap Settings > Display > Make sure Display 1 is on (highlighted with a yellow background) and Blank Image is turned off (not highlighted in yellow).
    • By default the audio will be muted.
      • On the main menu towards the left of the Select a Source section, there will be two buttons, one to increase volume and one to decrease with another button beneath that will mute/unmute the audio.
    • To control the volume:
      • Select settings > audio
        • From here the volume can be controlled or muted.
        • Note: The volume can also be controlled from the laptop.

In order for the instructor to share the screen of the desktop within the podium, select PC as a the input source.

Be sure to power off the Extron system when not in use. The power button is located on the main menu page (Select a Source) towards the bottom left of the screen.

Launch ShareLink by either searching for the ShareLink desktop application or opening a browser and entering the IP address found on the projector screen.

If launching from a browser:

  1. After selecting your operating system (either Windows or macOS) you will be prompted to save an executable. Hit Save File then open the File Explorer and navigate to the downloads folder.
    1. The program will be named something along the lines of SL_Lite_vVersionNumber_IPAddress.exe
  2. Once the program is launched you will be prompted for a pass code, the pass code will be located on the lower right corner of the projector screen.

If launching from the desktop app:

  1. From a lab PC search for the ShareLink app.
  2. Once the app is launched enter the name of the host into the search bar at the bottom then press connect.
    1. Ex: scb-dv-5
  3. A prompt for a pass code will appear, the pass code will be located on the lower right corner of the projector screen.

Once the pass code is entered several options will become available:

  1. The ShareLink app interface will automatically minimize into a bar which can be moved by clicking and dragging.
  2. To start mirroring a given display select the white play button. This will broadcast that computers screen to every display in the lab.
    1. From here you can pause or stop sharing entirely.

...

  • This will expand the bar back to full length.

...

  • This allows you to have multiple screen shares displayed simultaneously.
  • Clicking the button gives you the ability to choose where on the screen you would like your main display to be located.
    • Note: If no option is selected, the main display will take up the entire screen.

...

  • Can mute or unmute the audio.

Troubleshooting and Common Problems

HDMI vs USB-C

Most locations within the Max Lowenthal building have both HDMI and USB-C for projections. Only plug in one of these cables instead of both. This may result in your video not showing because the laptop is sending out the wrong import.

Monitors not turning on

In the spaces where there are monitors instead of projectors, there are times where the monitors do not want to turn on. Sometimes, turning the system off at the touch panel and turning them back on will reset the system. If not, you may need to manually turn the monitors on.

The power button for the monitors are on the bottom, middle.
