Notes on 3D Printing
Support material:
- Supported or overhanging surfaces tend to lose a lot of fine detail, and small locating elements may become unusable if printed with support.
- Removing support is somewhat annoying, especially if the support is located in a place that is difficult to access due to surrounding geometry.
- Think about what residual support material will do to functional surfaces.
Uncategorized:
- Check clearances between screw head and surface mounted components. PCB holes in COTS components may be designed for screw diameters that have heads that are too wide for safe mounting.
For Matt's sake, do not ask to metal print a box.
